Composition:

Chewable Tablet:
Each chewable tablet contains Albendazole USP 400mg.
AH Oral
Suspension:
Each 5ml contains Albendazole USP 200mg.
Indications: Albendazole
is indicated in single and mixed infestations, sush as- 1. Hookworm (Ancylostoma, Necator); 2. Roundworm (Ascaris); 3.
Threadworm (Enterobius); 4. Whipworm
(Trichuris); 5. Strongyloides; 6. Tapeworm (Taenia sp.); 7. Opistorchis; 8. Hydatid disease (Echinococcus); 9. Neurocysticercosis; 10.
Systemic nematodes; 11. Giardiasis; 12. Microsporidiosis.
Dosage and administration : Adults or children over 2 years of
age:
400mg (1 AH tablet or 10ml suspension) as a single dose in cases of Enterobius vermicularis, Trichuris
trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus.
In cases of strongyloidiasis or taeniasis, 400mg (1 AH tablet or 10ml
suspension) as a single dose should be given for 3 consecutive days. If the patient
is not cured on follow-up after three weeks, a second course of treatment is
indicated. AH 400mg tablets must be chewed. Both the preparations may be crushed and mixed with food. Children
under 2 years of age: Not recommended. Or, as directed by the registered
physicians.
Use
in pregnancy and lactation: Pregnancy category C. It should
not be administered during pregnancy or in women thought to be pregnant. It is
not known whether it is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised
when Albendazole is administered to a nursing women.
